Paint Automation Supervisor Compensation: $100,000–$120,000, depending on experience Position Summary The Paint Automation Supervisor leads the operation and improvement of automated paint systems in a manufacturing environment. This hands-on role combines robotic paint application, mechanical and pneumatic troubleshooting, process improvement, and technical leadership. What You’ll Do Support, troubleshoot, and improve robotic paint application systems. Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, and automation issues to keep equipment running reliably. Test and calibrate equipment, document results, and resolve performance problems. Evaluate changes to equipment and processes that improve paint quality, efficiency, and reliability. Lead technical personnel and coordinate projects from planning through production launch. Maintain drawings, project records, test results, and other technical documentation. Use tools such as PFMEA, control plans, and root cause analysis to address process risks and recurring issues. What We’re Looking For Experience with ABB robots or comparable industrial robotic systems. Paint application experience in a manufacturing setting. Strong mechanical and pneumatic troubleshooting skills. Experience leading technical work, managing projects, and following issues through to resolution. Clear communication and the ability to guide a team through equipment or process challenges. Familiarity with lean manufacturing and automotive quality tools such as APQP and PPAP is helpful. A bachelor’s degree is welcome, but relevant skills and hands-on experience carry more weight for this position.
